BERLIN
I’VE CURATED A PERSONAL LIST
OF MY FAVORITE LOCAL SPOTS.
I remember my first visit to Berlin as a child, everything felt big.
I went with my mother and siblings to the dome of the Reichstag. That moment has stayed with me: the architecture, the view, and the historical significance of it, which I understand more deeply now.
Back then, I felt like an outsider, and for years (despite many visits), that didn’t change.
Now, I’ve been living here for some years. Berlin has become familiar, and there are places I’ve grown especially fond of—spots where I feel most at home.
DRINKS
Gallina
Weinbar
What I liked right away was that it’s one of the few bars in the city where smoking isn’t allowed.
In addition to good wine, they also serve drinks and food.
Music is played on vinyl—something that’s not uncommon in Berlin, but still adds to the charm.
Cafe
Am Schlesi
What sounds fancy is actually not a café at all—it’s a typical Berlin Späti.
My friends and I come here regularly. If you really want to get to know the city, grab a seat and just watch the world go by.
Who knows—maybe we’ll run into each other here...
Bistro Spumante
This place captures the feeling of being somewhere on the Mediterranean Sea like nowhere else.
And it’s clearly a success—the seats are highly sought after.
If you do manage to get one, my tip: definitely try the Maggi egg.
DINNER
Ketels
Curry
Currywurst is a true icon of German street food culture—and its home is Berlin. You’ll find it on nearly every corner.
While opinions differ on where to find the best one, this spot is definitely a strong contender.
Briefmarken Weine
I’ve celebrated a birthday here, had dates, and brought friends along—it's my absolute favorite restaurant in the city.
The food is incredibly delicious, even if you’re not in the mood for wine.
Enzo
Sushi Bar
I’ve celebrated a birthday here too. The quality of the food keeps me coming back.
My favorite is the salmon, but the yellowtail mackerel is also a standout.
STROLL
do you read me?!
I’m crazy about magazines. My former professor helped sharpen my eye for them. I love discovering new ones and buying them all the time—but only if they’re good. It’s my little addiction. The love is in the details.
C/O
Berlin
If I had to choose a museum, I’d always go for a photography exhibition first—no matter what city I’m in.
I can’t even count how many times I’ve been here.
Right across the street is the Helmut Newton Foundation, you are almost there...
Duo - Sicilian Ice Cream
What makes this ice cream special is the pistachio-chocolate cream topping.
It freezes around the scoop and forms a kind of shell—it might sound a bit strange, but it’s absolutely delicious.
